   CHOREOGRAPHIC   WORK

IMG_0743 2.jpg

Dario's choreographic works centre on the notion of apathy, a place of mental disorientation and the disconnection of the body from the brain. Using the hormonal aspect of instinctive behavior as a source of movement framed by an aesthetic abstraction, he creates a distinctive style that leads the viewer into a new realm with new realities. Maintaining the source of his choreographic approach, he finds a new context in each production, revisiting and reapproaching stoicism from different angles, making the time of research in the studio the most important time of creation.

His professional choreographic journey started at Stadtheater Pforzheim with "I want your piece". In 2022 he collaborated together with Selene Martello to create "We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness". This duet was subsequently invited to participate at Rotterdam International Choreographic Competition (RIDCC) as well as Hannover Choreographic Competition. The piece has been awarded with numerous partner awards, that has expanded his choreographic journey with Nationaltheater Mannheim, Stadttheater Pforzheim and AvantGardeDance-Company leading to many choreographic cooperation with Selene Martello as tiredeyescompany. Next to his own production, he cooperated multiple times with Theater an der Rott to choreograph for diverse performative formats such as Die Fledermaus, Alice in Wonderland and Little shop of Horrors

THOSE AWAKE FEELING NOTHING

In the frame of the evening "Moon and fire" at Nationatheater Mannheim, this piece for 5 dancers takes place in another realm after death. Playing with the concept of apathy and stoicism discovered in their previous duet, the choreographic duo of tiredeyescompany is exploring together with the performers a new context of existents,  in wich the characters find themselves as a part of something bigger, something intangible, awake, yet feeling nothing.  I CAN´T HELP IT

For the choreographic evening "HAUT" at Stadttheater Pforzheim 2024, he created together with Selene Martello a new choreography with the title "I Can´t help it". This piece finds its concept in the construction Stoicism and the philosophical aspect of Nitzsche´s vision of an "Übermensch".  The complex facets of a deep, physical ecstasy surrounded by mental apathy are explored. It is a journey through unstoppable events that the five dancers physically absorb and process. For the trailer click here
